When the Waters Rise: Standing with Families Affected by Flooding in Peru

Emergencia-_-Lluvias

In recent months, severe rainfall and landslides have affected thousands of families across Peru.

According to the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN), the impact has been devastating:
58 people have lost their lives, 2 remain missing, more than 16,000 families have been displaced, and over 156,000 people have been affected nationwide.

Behind these numbers are stories of loss, disruption, and uncertainty. In regions already facing structural challenges, these emergencies deepen existing vulnerabilities.

A coordinated response

In response to this urgent situation, Help Peru launched an Emergency Relief Campaign, working closely with Fundación OLI and local partners on the ground.

By collaborating with organizations that are already embedded in affected communities, support can be mobilized quickly, efficiently, and with a deep understanding of local needs.

Volunteers and local teams have been coordinating the distribution of essential aid—ensuring that assistance reaches families who need it most, when they need it most.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, 120 emergency kits have already been delivered to affected families.

Each kit is designed to address immediate needs and includes:

  • Food and water
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Basic tools for cleanup and recovery

Help us reach more families

While progress has begun, the need remains urgent.

Many families are still waiting for support. And as recovery continues, the demand for basic supplies and assistance will only grow.

Your contribution can help us expand this response—reaching more communities, delivering more kits, and supporting families as they begin to rebuild.

Every donation makes a difference.
