As Help Peru prepares for an important leadership transition, Christopher Price shares a personal message reflecting on his tenure, the organization’s growth, and the search for Help Peru’s next Executive Director.

With a little sadness, a bit of pride, and tremendous optimism for the future, I am announcing that I will be ending my tenure at Help Peru on 31 December 2026.
Sadness because I will miss my small but powerful team, the incredible partner organizations I have worked with and learned from, and the richness of the communities I have visited.
I am proud of what we have accomplished over the last four years+: we have strengthened the organization through the development of formal policies, procedures, and tools; we have diversified our Board of Directors with the addition of three passionate and talented women; we have more than doubled our operating budget and diversified our revenue streams; and we hired our first ever staff in Peru, allowing us to co-design projects with partner organizations and provide them with ongoing training, technical assistance, and capacity building. These participatory processes have helped to ensure local ownership while strengthening sustainability. Through these efforts, we have scaled our program from some 2,000 annual beneficiaries to over 30,000 across 150+ communities. Help Peru is now a national organization.
I want to thank the Board for entrusting Help Peru to me and my vision over these last years and especially thank all our incredible supporters who made these accomplishments possible!
Still, there is much to be done in carrying out our mission to build a better future for Peru’s most vulnerable populations. We have begun the search process for Help Peru’s next Executive Director and, as I pass on the proverbial torch, I am confident that this person will have a strong base from which to take our organization to even greater heights.
