The Association Danza Perú - D1
Transforming lives through movement and purpose

Since 2023, Help Peru has supported Ángeles D1, the social arm of the nonprofit organization D1, founded by Peruvian dancer Vania Masías. D1 promotes personal and social transformation through an innovative, art-based educational model.
Through the Integral Training Program, D1 offers a free, three-year development pathway for adolescents and youth aged 15 to 20 from high-risk areas of Lima. The program combines technical dance instruction, socioemotional development, and life planning, creating a safe and expressive environment where youth can thrive.

Participants are empowered to strengthen their confidence, build leadership and teamwork skills, and develop a clear vision for their future. Over the course of the program, they receive:
- Professional training in expressive arts (with a focus on dance)
- Personalized guidance to design their life plans
- Socioemotional development and peer support
- Entrepreneurship and project management mini-courses through partnerships with the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) and the Project Management Institute, which help improve their employability and self-reliance.
By connecting artistic talent to personal and professional goals, D1 helps reduce risk behaviors (such as gang involvement or early pregnancy) and creates a multiplier effect—empowering young leaders to bring positive change to their communities.
