Since 1995, ANIA (Asociación para la Niñez y su Ambiente) has worked to foster empathy for life in new generations through regular and positive contact with nature with its flagship methodology, the TiNi or Land of Children.  ANIA’s work empowers children as agents of change, contributing to a more peaceful, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable future. For the past 5 years, Help Peru has partnered with ANIA to bring TiNis in six regions os Peru: Lima, Ica, Lambayeque, Junín, Cusco, and Áncash.

The TiNi is a space of land, starting from just half a square meter, where children care for life and biodiversity. Through this connection with Mother Nature, they learn to generate well-being for themselves, for others, and for the planet.

Through these living classrooms, children and youth:

  • Learn about climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability
  • Strengthen their physical, emotional, and mental well-being
  • Develop teamwork, creativity and communication skills
  • Actively engage in community-led actions for food security and environmental conservation

In the six regions supported by Help Peru, TiNi initiatives are implemented in both urban and rural schools, adapting to local needs:

  • In urban areas like Lima, TiNi restores green spaces in dense environments, improving well-being and creativity
  • In rural settings like Cusco and Junín, the gardens connect education with natural ecosystems and local identity
